I’m excited to tell you about the next stage in what we’re doing as Together Oklahoma! (If you are new to Together Oklahoma you’ll want to follow this link to see more about who we are and what we’re doing to make Oklahoma better.) Not long ago, someone said to me “Two people plus a plan equals power.” I’d never heard it said that way, but I immediately knew it to be true because I have seen that power in action.

“Two people plus a plan equals power”, but we have so many more than two people on the Together Oklahoma team. In fact, if our subscriptions continue to grow at this rate, and I’m certain that they will, we’ll have more than 6,000 people receiving this email every week by the end of October.

So what does that mean for us, our plans, and for Oklahoma?

It means more people are building their capacity for the good kind of power that improves the quality of life of all Oklahomans. More people are getting informed about what is going on at the Legislature, learning what are the most effective ways they can take action, and finding ways to support each other. That’s helped us build to where we are today, but there is so much more we can do.

We’re ready to move into the next stage of Together Oklahoma chapters that are forming all over the state. Once we launch our new membership process, trained membership chairs will be reaching out to discuss the ways you’d like to be involved in event planning, creative communications, research and analysis, and more.

I hope that you will take this opportunity to build your power as part of Together Oklahoma. We Oklahomans already work together by paying our taxes and we come together to vote on election day. Now let’s take this next step to realize the kind of Oklahoma we want to leave for future generations.

You and I are the kinds of people who see the problems in Oklahoma. So we’re going to make a plan, and we’re going to build the power to make our state better.
