Together Oklahoma announces hybrid statewide Listening Session: Pride and Policy

Together Oklahoma, in conjunction with the City of Lawton and the McMahon Memorial Authority, is excited to announce the upcoming Statewide 2SLGBTQIA+ Listening Session: Pride and Policy. Featuring best-selling author John Paul Brammer, this hybrid event will be held in Lawton, Oklahoma and available to join online via Zoom across the state. As the outreach advocacy arm of the Oklahoma Policy Institute, Together Oklahoma’s listening session offers an opportunity to hear directly from our partner communities for whom we advocate.

Together Oklahoma is partnering with the City of Lawton, the McMahon Memorial Authority and Oklahoma author John Paul Brammer to offer this opportunity for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community to express their ideas and views regarding state and local policies and issues. There will be a reading from JP Brammer, author of Hola Papi: How to Come Out in a Walmart Parking Lot and Other Life Lessons.

The conversations that occur during the listening sessions help not only identify emerging issues and concerns, but also helps validate our current policy work.  Listening sessions present an opportunity for collaboration and the creation of new partnerships to address policies in the most positive and constructive manner.

Together Oklahoma is a nonpartisan coalition of citizens working together to secure a robust future for our state. A program of the Oklahoma Policy Institute, Together OK serves as a grassroots education and advocacy group connecting Oklahoma values to state budget priorities.
